Hailing from the Lowveld, Dan is one of the most accomplished animated film directors in South Africa. His Christmas Special for the BBC, “Stick Man” (co-directed with Jeroen Jaspaert) was watched by over 9 million viewers on its release in 2015, and was awarded the Cristal For Best Overall TV Production at The Annecy International Animation Festival in 2016.

Dan recently served as animation supervisor on Jan Lachauer and Jakob Schuh’s Academy Award-nominated “Revolting Rhymes”, for which his team won the very first European Animation Award for Best Character Animation in the TV category.

He is currently directing a new Christmas Special, “Zog,” for the BBC, along with Max Lang (director of “The Gruffalo” and “Room on the Broom”). Like “Stick Man,” “Zog” is being produced by Magic Light Pictures in collaboration with Triggerfish Animation Studios.
